日本性感染症学会誌 Journal of Japanese Society for Sexually Transmitted Infections

Based on records from organizations that provide support to young women, we examined the situation of counselors who have contracted sexually transmitted infections, the systems they have used, and whether or not they have received medical treatments. Our analysis identified the following issues:

・Lack of information and support;

・Physical management on the part of the men in the downtown area;

・Lowering the institutional hurdles to obtaining medical assistance;

・Increasing accessibility of women’s welfare facilities;

・Creation of “jobs” for young women; and

・Increasing social workers’ knowledge of sexually transmitted infections.
