In recent years, preconception care for adolescents and sexually mature women has become more important, and the expectations of midwives who provide such care have been increasing. One of the foci of pre-conception care is cervical cancer prevention, and an important prevention aspect is use of the HPV vaccine. Thus, in particular, information about the HPV vaccine catch-up program, which began in April 2022, is an urgent issue. We conducted an online preconception care seminar for college students of eligible age for the HPV catch-up vaccination. This seminar did not simply provide information on HPV infection and the catch-up vaccination program, but incorporated these topics into the seminar as part of the preconception care needed by young people regarding the stages of adolescence and sexual maturity. There were 20 participants, including two men. After the seminar we asked the participants to evaluate the content. The results of the questionnaire indicated that the participants had gained information about HPV infection and prevention and now had the correct HPV knowledge. They had personalized the content and regarded HPV infection as their own problem. We believe that this seminar had a particular effect on motivating improved sexual health behavior among the attendees.
