本稿では、筆者によるHPVワクチンのコミュニケーションの研究結果をもとに課題を提示し、認知心理学、進化心理学等の知見をふまえ、HPVワクチン接種勧奨において保護者と思春期女子に「何を」「どう」伝えるかを考察する。「何を伝えるか」を扱う前半では、認知機能の二重過程理論と進化心理学の欲求階層モデルを枠組みに、受け手の配偶者獲得や親族養育の欲求を賦活するコミュニケーションを提案する。「どう伝えるか」を扱う後半では、認知心理学の処理流暢性研究と進化心理学の意思決定研究を枠組みに、HPVワクチン情報の見やすさ、読みやすさやイメージしやすさの改善と、統計情報の理解しやすい示し方を提案する。
Based on the author’s research on communication regarding the human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine, the author presents the issues of “what” and “how” to communicate to parents and adolescent girls regarding the HPV vaccination based on the findings of cognitive and evolutionary psychology. In the first half of the discussion, describing what to communicate, the author proposes a communication strategy that stimulates the recipients’ need for mate acquisition and parenting within the framework of the dual-process theories of cognitive functioning and the hierarchy model of fundamental human motives in evolutionary psychology. In the second half of the discussion, covering how to communicate, within the framework of processing fluency research in cognitive psychology and decision-making research in evolutionary psychology, the author proposes the enhancement of processing fluency of HPV vaccine information and to present statistical information in a way that is easy to understand.
