2020年3月頃から新型コロナ感染症（COVID-19）が全国的に広がり、外出の自粛や3密を避ける行動が要請されるようになった。このコロナ禍における福井県の男性性感染症の発生状況の変化をみるため、2017年から2019年の3年間とコロナ禍の2020年の発生状況を比較した。
男性性感染症の総患者数は2020年には92人減少していた。原因菌別尿道炎の検討では、淋菌性尿道炎は横ばい、クラミジア性尿道炎は17人の増加、非クラミジア非淋菌性尿道炎は97人減少していた。年齢別の検討では、15～24歳の若い年代において、クラミジア性尿道炎だけでなく、淋菌性尿道炎、性器ヘルペス、尖圭コンジローマも増加していた。
コロナ禍において、若い世代において性感染症の増加を認め、安全な性生活に関する啓発活動の必要性が示唆された。
Since 2020, coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has spread throughout Japan, resulting in travel restrictions and restricted access to the three Cs (closed spaces, crowded places, and close-contact settings). To evaluate the prevalence of male sexually transmitted infections in Fukui Prefecture during the COVID-19 pandemic, we compared the occurrence rate in 2020 with that from 2017 to 2019.
The total number of male patients with sexually transmitted infections decreased by 92 in 2020. In a study on each type of urethritis, the number of gonococcal urethritis did not change, however that of chlamydial urethritis increased by 17 and that of non-chlamydial non-gonococcal urethritis decreased by 97. In males aged 15 to 24 years, not only did the cases of chlamydial urethritis increased but so did the cases of gonococcal urethritis, genital herpes, and condyloma acuminatum.
In conclusion, the number of sexually transmitted infections increased during the COVID-19 pandemic in the younger age group. Therefore, further education about safer sex is required for the younger population.
