This study aimed to investigate the accessible distribution of awareness tools on sexually transmitted infections (STIs) for young people to gain appropriate knowledge and perceptions for use in STI prevention. We conducted STI prevention education and bearer self-report questionnaire surveys for university students. A total of 233 students responded to the questionnaires. There were 160 males, 136 females, and 3 students who did not response. Their affiliations are as follows: 124 were Information, 74 were Education, 64 were Nursing, 25 were Engineering, and 12 did not respond. Regarding how to prevent an STI, 246 answered, “Have sexual intercourse with a condom”, and 62 answered, “Take oral contraceptive regularly”. Additionally, 21 students (11 males, 9 females, 1 unknown) answered, “No STI infected with a kissing”. In recognition of sex, females had a higher rate of agreement predominantly with “I can have sex with a steady boyfriend or girlfriend”, and males had a higher rate of agreement with “They can have sex if they do not bother others”. Regarding opinions on effective awareness programs, “Internet utilization” was indicated by 112 students, and “Use in lectures and use for posters and leaflets by distributing in schools” was indicated by 54 students. It is necessary to continue to provide appropriate information through the Internet and postings on bulletin boards in schools according to the known differences in generations, gender, living backgrounds, current situations, and sexual behaviors between young people.
